Our Approach

We believe that good oral health is necessary in the overall health and vitality of every child, and that the profession of early childhood caries can be prevented.

The mouth which houses our teeth, tongue, and salivary glands is the gateway to all the essential needs of our body: food, water and air. It is an integral part for determining the health of our entire bodies. We use an integrated approach with all of our young patients, offering options that, in our best judgment, will address and positively impact each child as a whole. It is important to address a cavity, and it is just as important to evaluate and try to remedy why such a cavity was formed. Although often proper treatment may necessitate restoring a tooth, in some cases consciously and actively choosing to monitor and later re-evaluating the situation is a valid treatment option, using minimally invasive dentistry techniques such as tooth remineralization and ozone applications.

We are always striving to meet new families in our communities and encourage them to establish a dental home as soon as possible, before the age of one or when their child’s first tooth comes in. And we stress the importance of ongoing continuing care to establish a routine at home and with the dentist, checking regularly for ongoing prevention, caries risk assessments, and gaining knowledge about their child’s future growth and development.

Our goal is to gain trust and create a confidence in children and their parents so that they will look forward to visiting the dentist and being diligent about maintaining healthy habits and oral care at home.

Meet the Team

Donna - RDA Donna

RDA

I have been with Dr. Oliver since 1998 and have had a great time working with children. “Kids DO say the darndest things!” I try to keep everyone’s experience positive and happy. Our goal as a team and individually is to banish dental fear and anxiety for life! I live in Sonoma County and am frequently recognized by our patients—it’s a good feeling when they run up with an enthusiastic HI! I enjoy my job, the people I work with, and the opportunity to help children.

I love and enjoy working with kids and making them feel at ease. Being able to turn a new (scary?) experience of the dental world into a fun, magical place is what I enjoy most of all. I have a young son of my own and can relate to concerns parents may have. My goal is to have every child have a positive, happy experience in our office and want to come back for another great visit!

I love to see kids have a positive experience in our dental office! For nearly 25 years I have been able to see this happen as a registered dental assistant. What a privilege it is for me to serve families in our community. My time at work is really special “family” time because I am able to work side-by-side with my brother, Dr. Oliver! My husband and I have two wonderful children.

I received my RDA license from Santa Rosa Junior College in 2005, and since then have enjoyed working in the fields of oral surgery, general dentistry and pediatric dentistry. Dr. Oliver’s office is by far my favorite work environment yet. I appreciate all of the opportunities that allow me to make a child’s dental experience a positive one. I am the proud mother of a rambunctious little boy and when I’m not hard at play with him or hard at work at Dr. Oliver’s I am enjoying an active outdoor life, hiking, traveling and gardening to name a few.

I started working at this office mid-September 2020 and have loved every minute since. I get to learn and experience new things each and every day. I love seeing the smiles on the children’s faces after visiting our office. I look forward to many more years of improving a child’s experience at the dentist! When I’m not working I love spending time with my family and my sweet puppy Odie! He is a husky lab mix and is the sweetest thing!

We can’t wait to help create a positive and enjoyable environment for you and your child at their next visit!

Financial Manager/Office Administration

I have been enjoying pediatric dentistry for more than 25 years. I am a registered dental assistant, although you are likely to receive a friendly greeting from me upon your first phone call or visit to our office. It is such a pleasure meeting the families of our community and watching the children grow up in our dental home. I always do my best to keep a smooth running schedule and respect the time and effort our families take to be here. I love working with parents and patients to help them understand the treatment recommendations and receive the care they deserve. I hope that all our families feel that they are among friends in our practice.

I love seeing the transformation in a child from the beginning to the end of their appointment. Watching a child blossom from their initial hesitation into a confident patient . Having a dental career for over 30 years with the majority of those years of being pediatric dentistry. Shows how much I truly enjoy what I do . Recently moving to Windsor, CA I enjoy all the wonders that beautiful Sonoma County has to offer .

I’m the newest to the crew, having just moved to Windsor in 2018. We were in need of a new dentist for our five little guys, one of which needed a lot of dental treatment. I was so appreciative to Dr. Oliver’s office for their approach, love, and softness with my little guy. Now I’m mom-turned-employee here and enjoy it even more. I adore kids and have loved working at the front desk seeing little ones all day. As a busy mom myself, we try hard to help everyone’s schedules flow smoothly as they fit in their dental hygiene needs. I love my family, chocolate, candy and warm cookies. Thankfully, I also love the running that’s helpful after indulging in those treats. This is a great place and I know you and your kids will love it as much as I do.

History

Our office has been serving families in Sonoma County, Mendocino County and Lake County for over 30 years. Rob Oliver, a native of Sonoma County, began his pediatric dental career in 1998 in Sebastopol, California when his father, also a pediatric dentist, retired and turned over his rural practice to his son. As Dr. Oliver’s reputation grew, so did the practice and the need for more space. In early 2006, he opened a second office in Windsor.

Community Outreach

As a gift to our communities, Dr. Oliver has prepared an educational dental prevention program for our preschools and elementary classrooms. Our Registered Dental Assistants lead an entertaining presentation that focuses on the importance of a healthy and beautiful smile. Fun props and storyboards are used to motivate daily brushing and flossing habits, and healthy food choices are discussed. We also invite classrooms to plan a field trip to our Windsor or Sebastopol office where they can explore and learn about dental care in our fun dental office environment.
